meet Dr. Luis
Dr. Luis Fornia’s passion for helping people was sparked early in life by his mother, a dialysis nurse. He expected to follow in her footsteps, but instead found his own calling. His quest to find ways of achieving health outside the dominant medical paradigm led him to explore chiropractic care, and the science and philosophy behind the practice was an inspiration.
Dr. Luis attended the University of Puerto Rico, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology with a minor in Biotechnology. His acceptance into Life University led him from his native Puerto Rico to his new home in beautiful Marietta, Georgia. There he learned myriad methods for helping people improve their health, but it was his study of Bio-Geometric Integration (BGI) that rekindled his childhood curiosity and passion.
Sue Brown, D.C., taught that chiropractic can aid people in taking the next step on the path of their evolution. Dr. Luis took his mentor’s words to heart and aspires to that every day in his personal practice. He provides a safe space for everyone, and has had the honor of working with people from all walks of life, including women with pelvic disorders, laborers, personal injury cases, and seekers of spiritual growth.
In his spare time, Luis enjoys reading, hiking, spending time with friends, and spoiling his cat, Sadie.
meet (soon to be Dr.) Joel
Joel has his partner Dr. Jacqueline to thank for introducing him to Chiropractic in 2011. After experiencing Chiropractic care and learning about the innate power of the body, Joel was fascinated that he had never heard of this perspective of healing before. As a result of his own experience, he decided that he wanted to empower others on their own health journey and enrolled in Life University’s Chiropractic program.
Joel is passionate about natural health and movement. He enjoys working with all people and especially families who are taking the steps together to reach their highest potential. Joel believes that all people can benefit from Chiropractic care and is excited to serve at Whole Heart.
Since Joel was introduced to Chiropractic through the utilization of Bio-Geometric Integration (BGI), it was natural that it became his approach to care. While at Life University, Joel served as the president of the BGI club for 2 years, as well as the liaison for BGI seminars in the Atlanta area. Joel previously worked as a FedEx courier in both Kentucky and Atlanta and is completing his Bachelors of Science in Biology concurrently with his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. In his free time he enjoys hiking and camping, learning to play the guitar, and spending time with family.
Joel is excited to get to be in an office that offers so much to their practice members. He is currently interning at Whole Heart and will move to being a Chiropractor in the office after graduation. He hopes to bring more peace and ease to the lives of those that he serves.
